I travelled widely in Asia, Europe, Africa and the Middle East, I completed a BA in Arabic and English at the Polytechnic of Central London and Alexandria University, before training as a Teacher of English as a Foreign Language at International House in Cairo.
Whilst travelling I encountered many different healing forms and ways of working with the body. But there were very few models that appeared to involve the client more actively and effectively in their own health and wellbeing.
I qualified as a Shiatsu Therapist at the Ki Kai School of Shiatsu, where I first trained with Bill Palmer the founder of Movement Shiatsu. I found that Movement Shiatsu extends the options of how I work as a practitioner with clients: I encourage clients to have active input in their treatment process based on 2-way feedback and exploring options, that have been discussed and agreed with each client. This approach actively engages clients in their healing process.
I live and work at the Threshold Centre Community in Gillingham Dorset where I treat clients in our Treatment Room and I lead Qigong classes outdoors in the summer and via Zoom on-going.
